One of the many strategic plans for the City of Wichita is to improve the quality of life for its citizens by facilitating collaboration and integrated solutions between individuals and organizations. To this end, the Environmental Sustainability Alliance of Visioneering Wichita exists to act as a resource, catalyst, an dadvocate for environmental, economic, and social sustainability.

The Environmental Sustainability Alliance centers their efforts on bringing together the community to discuss:

• Energy efficiency
• Alternate energy strategies
• Emission reductions leading to improved air quality 
• Economics of sustainability initiatives

The goals of the Alliance are:

• Transportation: To create a multimodal system that moves people and goods throughout the region with the most efficient use of economic and environmental resources.
• Energy Efficiency: To maximize energy efficiency and sustain energy supply based on renewable and environmentally sound resources.
• Water Quality: To establish reliable and plentiful water resources that maximize water conservation and assure optimum water quality.
• Air Quality: To assure optimum air quality that has no negative impact on the health of humans, natural ecosystems, and economic development.
• Solid Waste: To reduce, reuse and recycle solid waste.
