The purpose of the State of Kansas Solid Waste Management Plan is to establish goals and strategies for maintaining environmentally protective solid waste management practices in Kansas. Solid waste is generated by every person, business, and institution in Kansas; therefore, the State Plan directs KDHE to administer a comprehensive regulatory program to cover all management activities as well as technical training and public outreach programs. The overall goal is to stimulate good waste management choices and require compliant practices that minimize impacts to human health and the environment.
